Project Status - update on Documentary project as of February 2025

With funds raised here at DVN and also directly through our fiscal sponsor CID, we are progressing with our research in film and television archives to unearth additional footage and photos that will help us to make the film. This is a time consuming process because Saund is not often listed in the metadata and we are taking a broad approach to reviewing materials based on what we know of Saund's timeline and life activities. 

The good news is that we are finding footage and photos that have never been seen before! Some of these items (interviews with Saund when he was a Congressman) require costly film transfers and we will do those when we have additional funding. 

Reaching our fundraising target here will help us to complete the Research & Development stage of the film, covering costs of traveling to media archives, hiring local researchers, and the digitization of film reels as needed.

We are also finding more people who remember the election campaign in 1956 and would like to interview them on camera as soon as our production funding allows. 

As you may be aware, Dr. Amarjit Singh Marwah sadly passed away on Jan 7, 2025. We are very fortunate to have interviewed him for this documentary in 2023.
