Gurdwaras, Libraries, Student Association and More

Dear Supporter,

We finished the year 2024 strong with a reach-out to over sixty Gurdwara Sahibs both in the Diaspora and Punjab, over fifteen libraries, and ten student associations. Each of the event/ book donations was done with a request to share these books and story of Jaswant Singh Khalra with many others.

From Chandigarh to Surrey, the response to the book was awe-inspiring. In an Sikh Student Association event organized to commemorate 40 years of the Sikh Genocide, students came up to me and said that for the first time, they have been inspired to channel anger into constructive action - just the way our hero, Jaswant Singh Khalra did. 

In the last four years, 22,500+ Punjabi and English readers of all ages, in the diaspora and Punjab have learned about our forgotten recent history, and have been inspired by the peaceful yet forceful pursuit of justice and activism by our hero.

This was made possible by your help. But now, we have run out of the first edition and more books are needed. 

We plan to print ten thousand copies of the book for the second edition in 2025 to commemorate 30 years of Jaswant Singh's martyrdom so children may learn about their recent history which has been denied to them for the last forty years since 1984.

The project will cost in the ballpark of $100,000 and our goal is to raise $50,000 through DVN funding. Nearly 50% of these books will be donated or subsidized heavily and your donation will enable the giving of these books to schools, libraries, and youth clubs. 

In the last four years, we have donated over 5,000 books to various libraries, and organizations and at the Farmers Protest and subsidized 2,500 books for sale in India, providing access to all regardless of their affordability.
